Super Mario Bros. Add-On Printables

Robbie has had a recent fascination with "speaking Italian". I'm not sure where it stems from, but we incorporated just a bit of it into our Super Mario Bros. week (yes... another one). I printed out an Italian flag, a map of Italy and made a Mario-themed Italian counting book (1-5). I thought I'd share it with anyone who is interested.

Word Pipes!!! Super Mario Word Families Printables
As part of our Super Mario Bros. week(s), I created these "Word Pipes" for creating word families. They are essentially the same concept as word ladders, but with a Mario theme.
The child can either write the beginning sounds on the pipes or (for non-writers) use the beginning sounds tiles I've included below.

RockerDad Rocks!!!
My husband was home from work due to the crazy blizzard that hit our area. I asked him to help me decorate the folder for Robbie's Super Mario lapbook (we only have manilla folders, which seemed pretty bland) and look what he did:

I think it's adorable!
ThisMario Luigi week has been so much fun! Robbie is loving it and we'll probably extend it into next week, as well. I can't wait to share the pictures and printables.

How to Make a Luigi (or Mario) Hat
... or, at least, how I did it on the fly.
Robbie has been pretending to be Luigi for weeks (hence the Mario Bros. themed week) and he's been (mostly) content to pretend that his Chicago Bears hat is Luigi's hat. He has told me several times that he needs a real Luigi hat.
I finally decided (a spur of the moment decision, I confess) to try to make one for him.

Mario Math

Woohoo!! It's great to finally have a printer!
Well, as I've mentioned, we're having a Super Mario Bros. week here. I thought I'd start by sharing a few of our Mario Math Printables.
I created some counting and skip counting mazes and some counting cards. Robbie has been having a blast with the mazes already this morning. I'll probably have to use these types of things more often. (I'm glad I laminated them first or we'd be out of ink already.)

Well, this should be interesting...
I suppose we'll see how educational Super Mario Bros. can be when we make it our fun focus this week.
Stay tuned to find out the story behind this post, see how our week unfolds and to download all of our Super Mario printables.
