Read-Alouds

These are a few of the books we enjoyed this week.

"Sylvester and the Magic Pebble"
William Steig

"The Cat Club"
Esther Averill

"Usborne Beginners: Knights"
Stephanie Turnbull & I. McNee

One or two pages from this per day...

"The Real Mother Goose"
Blanche Fisher Wright (Illustrator)

At Robbie's request, a chapter (or whatever he can be still through) each day or so from...

"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"
J. K. Rowling

I almost always initiate a mini-narration from him when we're finished so that I know he understood the story and we discuss the story during and after reading it. Of course, we read more than these, but many have been listed before, will be blogged about at a later date or weren't worth a report.

  1. Great books this week. Anna wants to read Harry Potter, but I explained to her that things get pretty scary pretty soon, and she is willing to wait when she is older. I really love HP, and hope that one day she will be fully enveloped by magic of this story.
