Weekly Wrap-Up

Nursery School Wrap Up

We were all pictures last week, this week.... none.

This has been a weird week for us. Robbie has done much more seatwork than normal (at his request) and has suddenly decided that he wants to write everything. I had to make him some left-handed letter practice sheets (which made him very happy). I'll share these soon, in case anyone is interested.

His reading ability has been jumping by leaps and bounds lately, but his stamina has not. He wants to read more "big boy books" (as he calls them), but the stamina simply isn't there. I know it will come in time, but for now he's a bit frustrated. He's tired of "baby books".... I'm fine with them. He IS still just a baby.

We're in a bit of a holding pattern for math. To be honest, we've been in this holding pattern for many, many months. We've been playing with this and that just to keep basic information fresh and build some thinking skills. I'm planning a blog post about this soon, so I won't go into too much detail here.

Robbie colored a bit this week, but we didn't do any crafts. We were still recovering from our sickness at the beginning of the week and I guess I was lazy (hence the lack of photos). He constructed many creations with both Lego and Trio blocks this week and played in shaving cream (I've discovered that "writing" in things like this is a lost cause).

I'm sure I'll think of many other things I should have written when I'm more fully awake, but for now... that's all I've got. :)

  3. Sounds like a great week. We had rare weeks when Anna was more interested in seat work, but she is definitely a reader and an experimenter, writing is not as fascinating to her at the moment, and she hates anything that smells of any kind of testing :)
