Weekly Wrap-Up

Nursery School Wrap Up

Robbie is 3 years old.

There's not much to report. We've been purging items from our home and trying to get our home back into shape. I feel like such a slacker because I have NO photos to share this week.

I've been doing so much planning for the upcoming year that (despite his requests) we've not touched any "formal" educational materials... not that I'm complaining.

I'll be posting soon about our read-aloud plans for 2010-2011.

intentional learning

Pre-READING
He read some more "I See Sam" books and a few more "Bob Books".

Pre-WRITING
Unstructured fine motor activities.

Pre-MATH
He got a "Friends of Coal" frisbee at a West Virginia Miners ballgame and he was adding and subtracting snack items on his own during our trip home.

practical learning

I've slowly been adding more things for him to do around the house. He isn't expected to remember them, yet, but he's a great helper when I ask him.

playful learning

He had so much fun in the WV mountain air (it was great to be out of the TN heat and humidity). He ran around on my Uncle's property, rode his balance bike almost non-stop and played with his cousins. He even got to have a sleepover with his cousin Mallory. They played so well together (a refreshing change) and had a blast.

Since we've been home, he's resumed his days "in character". He's been Woody, Robin, an astronaut, "Flying Robbie" and a soldier.

making mom smile

He is now infamous within our extended family as the Vicious Chicken Strip Thief of Flat Top. The child was hungry... the food wasn't quite ready... you do the math. ;)

  1. I completely understand the lack of pictures. My post this week is the same way! I've been doing a lot of planning as well. Do you feel that you're not going to get it all done? I'm feeling it now!
