Read-Alouds

These are a few of the books we enjoyed this week.

"Guess How Much I Love You"
Sam McBratney

"Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day"
Judith Viorst

"Curious George"
H.A. Rey

"Miss Nelson is Missing"
James Marshall

All of the books above can be found in "The 20th Century Children's Book Treasury"

One or two pages from this per day...

"The Real Mother Goose"
Blanche Fisher Wright (Illustrator)

I almost always initiate a mini-narration from him when we're finished so that I know he understood the story and we discuss the story during and after reading it. Of course, we read more than these, but many have been listed before, will be blogged about at a later date or weren't worth a report.

  2. Guess How Much I Love You was one of our all time favorites when the kids were smaller - we still quote from the book a few years later!

  5. We read all of these books except the last one by Marshall. We love classic children literature. Too bad daughter is growing out of some of it. Thanks for joining WMCIR!
