Weekly Wrap-Up

Nursery School Wrap Up

Robbie is 2.5 years old.

Since I've now combined my two sites, the more hands-on activities will be featured in our Tot-School updates every Sunday.

BIBLE

"Thank You, God!" (Creation)

Memory Work: "God created the heavens and the earth"

Looked through The World of Animals (Children's Reference) and talked about different animals, what they eat and their habitats.

PRE-READING

He does a short lesson before his nap and before bedtime... he's still begging for it!

Pp pages & Played the Short-Vowel Shuffle daily (he calls it the "honk game")

several pages... his phonemic awareness has increased by leaps and bounds lately and he sounds nearly EVERYTHING out

Starfall.com - whatever he chose.. I leave this in his hands. Some days he only plays with the snowman, turkey, etc while other days he makes words and reads the books... He even has days where he will only practice the sign language alphabet.

PRE-WRITING
- Homemade tracing sheets (I simply used a highlighter to create what I wanted him to trace.)
- Fine Motor: stamping, stickering, coloring, tracing, etc.

PRE-ARITHMETIC

Lesson 32... in our own way, of course

Numeral recognition activities

Manipulative Activities: homemade linking cube activities, number cards, making patterns with Easter stamps, Connect Four, copying designs onto a geoboard

  2. What a great week. I have to look into the Saxon Math K. I want to use Saxon, but didn't realize they have for Kindergarten.

  3. Visiting from the Preschool Corner - your blog is very well organized. It looks like your homeschool is humming along nicely - we also like using manipulatives for math.
