States, Soccer, Stocks and Spaceships

It's been a few weeks.. but that's nothing new. (Insert annoying winking smiley here.)  We're in a mad dash to get the house ready and move our stuff in before the end of November, so I may or may not be posting the rest of the month.  (Cue the mumbles of, "What else is new?".. with accompanying eye-rolling.)

On the school front, Robbie has been learning about fractions.  In addition to our math program, he's also been experiencing them through real life and manipulative activities.  Our current favorite fraction manipulatives are fraction bars and fraction circles (both from Learning Resources).

His new favorite educational app is "Stack the States".  It's the first educational app I've had to tell him to stop playing.  (He'd play it for hours, if I'd allow it.)

Robbie's new favorite app... "Stack the States"

Robbie is re-reading "Sunset of the Sabertooth" (Magic Tree House) and still reading from his "Alfie the Werewolf" books.  We will re-start "Charlotte's Web" as a read-aloud in the next few days.

I have to beg, bribe and/or threaten to make reading happen, but it does.  I recently posted about our struggles here: Have I Failed My Young Reader?  Please, post if you have any thoughts or suggestions.  I really need all the help I can get.

Have I Failed My Young Reader?

Here are a few snippets from the other side of life:

Robbie's last soccer game of the season and his medal.

Robbie had so much fun trick-or-treating with his cousins... as Link, of course.

Robbie was excited to finish his Space Derby rocket.  (We did it together.)

He was even more excited to see how fast it "flew".

Well, that's our (few) week(s).  Please pray or send good wishes to our family, as we're hoping to be spending Christmas in our own place.  What have you been up to?

    1. It's a fun game. (Yes, I'll admit to playing it, too.) Thanks for stopping by.

  2. What fun you have been having. I hated it when my books were packed, so I can relate to that. Hugs and prayers your way.

    1. Thank you so much, Phyllis. I can't wait to get back into the swing of things in our own place.
