A few weeks ago, I posted a little bit about our severe lack of space and how we're trying to make the most of it. (Basically, it showed the world that our home is beginning to look like a preschool, lol.) I had one area for which I could NOT figure out the best use.
This is our entertainment center and components cabinet in our living room. The bottom shelves were nearly empty, catch-all spaces for spill-over toys. His table and chairs were smack in the middle of the floor.
Here is how we are currently using the space. His table has been moved over to the window. I placed my reading lamp on it and now he calls it his "desk". He has loved having more Tot-School items out at a time. I think he's forgotten about the ones on the shelves in the kitchen. I'll have to remind him this week.
Well, I think this is a much better use of the space. If you have any small space ideas, please leave a link in a comment below. I'd love to hear your ideas!

Please remember that all children are different and so are their educational needs. What works for one child may or may not work for another. While I hope that any information I provide will be useful, you know your child better than anyone. I wish you the best of luck finding what you need!

For me, it works to take down the little table when I'm not using it(and I have the exact same one, that cracks me up). It helps the space seem bigger when we're not using it, and it makes it a bigger deal to use it.
ReplyDeleteThe best tip I have for a small space is to think about what things you can hang on the wall or a door. You can use an over-the-door shoe holder to store some supplies for example.
