Robbie only has one more lesson (he is already comfortable with the two-syllable words in that lesson) and two books to read to complete his Hooked on Phonics First Grade. If he'll allow it, we may take a week off before starting the Second Grade lessons. He also finished his Explode the Code 2 book this week. He's very excited to move on.
Well... I made my first (and possibly last) batch of homemade play dough...LOL. It was really sticky, and while he enjoyed it, he said that he preferred the "regular" Play Doh. Oh well, I always knew I was a bit of a homeschool outcast. ;)
... so, we bought him some new Play Doh and he made "Tiny" Toad, Luigi and Mario (with a ginormous nose). I guess my sticky dough didn't damage him too badly.

What have you been up to this week?
.
We play a lot of dice games for math too. I like the idea of the chalkboard...I might have to try writing math problems on the dry erase board in his playroom and see if he does them during quiet time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of work got done. My James loves math, too.
ReplyDeleteI love the "old timey" math! Great idea! And I've never attempted homemade play-doh...not sure if it's worth the trouble when most of it ends up on the floor or in the dog's bowl :)
ReplyDeleteMath is still a strong favorite here, I hope it stays that way. The playdoh creations are lovely!
ReplyDeleteHe's always doing such cool stuff!!! Love the Mario brothers.
ReplyDeletePopping in from the WWU.
