Current Read-Alouds

Read-Alouds

These are a few of the books we enjoyed this week.

"A Boy, a Dog, and a Frog"
Mercer Mayer

"Make Way for Ducklings"
Robert McCloskey

"Millions of Cats"
Wanda Gag

"Freight Train"
Donald Crews

"A Million Fish... More or Less"
Patricia C. McKissack

All of the books above can be found in "The 20th Century Children's Book Treasury"

"The Prince and the Pauper"
Disney Retelling

One or two pages from this per day...

"The Real Mother Goose"
Blanche Fisher Wright (Illustrator)

I almost always initiate a mini-narration from him when we're finished so that I know he understood the story and we discuss the story during and after reading it. Of course, we read more than these, but many have been listed before, will be blogged about at a later date or weren't worth a report.

  1. I need to get the Daniel Crews book to read with my toddler. He loves trains! Thanks for linking up with RAT. You've been missed!
