Math Update

Well, he's having a bit of trouble with AB patterns. He can create/copy/identify them with his linking cubes, but we tried it with his army men and he seemed lost (he has several colors of army men to use). The funny thing is.... he had no trouble with labeling each part of the pattern A or B. I thought that would be the abstract/difficult concept.

I think we'll spend the rest of the week playing pattern games. We can alternate clapping and stomping, shout word patterns, create patterns by taking turns, lacing his beads in a pattern, etc. I've also made some pattern cards for his novelty erasers that he can copy. Since he loves his pattern blocks so much, we will probably use those as well.
