Tot-School

Tot School

RockerTot is currently 24 months old.

----------------------------
This week was amazing on the Tot-School front. Unfortunately, I found out that our little-bundle-on-the-way had already found its way into God's arms. In spite of the pain and disappointment, RockerTot and I had so much fun playing and learning together. He really is my little joy (in whirlwind format).
----------------------------

We read several books. I'll list the ones I can remember:
Are You My Mother?
The Beginner's Bible
Horton Hatches the Egg
Cool Time Song
Curious George's ABCs
Wacky Wednesday

RockerTot also went Starfall crazy and did each letter at least twice this week. He cried to "do Starfall" anytime I told him that we'd have to wait.

aka ScholarTot

He really enjoys working his new (to him) alphabet puzzle. Thank you so much, Sheralyn!!

RockerTot loves to make artwork for RockerDad. He was using his small stamp pad. He stamped his hand, his mouth and finally used the ink as fingerpaint. He had so much fun!

He pulled out the "hammering nails" tray more than any other this week. He especially loves to pull the "nails" back out of the upholstery foam with the claw end of the hammer.

He loves these linking monkeys (Canimals) from the Dollar Tree. Thanks, Aunt Di!! First, he sorted them by color (he's made leaps and bounds in his color recognition lately)....

... then we worked together to link them together in a pattern. I had to hold the top of the chain and occasionally remind him that we were working on a specific pattern. It was his first try with patterns and I feel he did very well.

He added some butterfly stickers to his sticker book.

aka ApprenticeTot

RockerTot asked if we could make muffins, so we made some strawberry muffins. He's getting better at stirring, but I have to watch or he'll eat the batter off of the mixing spoon.

I can't completely keep him from tasting, though.

While the muffins baked, RockerTot helped me with the dishes. I wish I loved to do dishes as much as this tot does.

He then pretended to make muffins in his kitchen.

He pretended to mow the lawn like RockerDad.

We found this wooden workbench on clearance at our local Toys "R" Us for $16.78. We thought it was a steal and brought it home for RockerTot.

He walked in and noticed it immediately. He said, "Tools, Mama!!" He had so much fun and is still learning all the things he can do with the tools.

aka NatureTot

The hay behind our house was finally cut and baled. RockerTot got to see how it all gets done.

RockerTot found this discarded cicada skin.

We checked out our apples...

... as well as our pears.

RockerTot loves to climb on the fence, swing on the gate and climb between the boards.

Just Plain RockerTot

He played with his magnetic farm scene almost daily.

Mr. Potato Head, Jr is always fun. I really need to get some additional pieces for him to mix and match.

I placed only the wooden railroad track pieces necessary to make a circle track. He is getting much better at putting together a track layout. It's a whole different type of puzzle.

RockerDad joined in to help with Mega Blocks. I love it when they work together.

This old and broken toy car came with the yard. We planned to trash it because it was broken, but RockerTot found it and since it still rolled... he claimed it!!

RockerMoms Fave Photos

RockerTot discovered that one of his cups fit perfectly into this large cardboard tube that RockerDad brought home from work. (He's always bringing scraps home from work for us to use in Tot-School.)

I really love this pic of RockerDad and RockerTot picking out a story to read.

  1. I am sorry to hear your news. I went through this 3 times before I had my little one. I was glad to see that you feel as I do that our babies are with God now. It still hurts to have that lost, but there is comfort knowing we will get to meet them one day! Thinking of you, a fellow totschool mom!

  2. Looks like you had a successful tot school week! Great job. I'll be praying for you guys. We too lost a little one before our little guy was born and it was such a tough time. It's really hard to know how to feel. Keep focusing on Rocker Tot and that's sure to make it a bit easier. :)

  8. I am relatively new to your blog and wanted to stop by to let you know I have been visitng.

I am sorry to hear your news. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

Rocker Tot looks like he had a fun filled week, despite his mummy's sadness. I like the idea of golf tees for hammering. I will be keeping this in mind for my little boy, although I know my little girl would enjoy this as well.
